First greek colony in Sicily, where the calcides landed for the first time in the VII century b.C. From the breath-taking coast you can admire Taormina and the majestic volcano of the Etna: the Promenade Tysandros it’s not only a hub of connection towards the major points of interest, but also center of the life of Giardini Naxos, full of restaurants where to taste our typical foods, such as the pistachio DOC of Bronte, the citruses and a first quality fish. The main stages are the statue of the Goddes Nike, Schisò’s Castle, the Archaeological Park and its Museum in the port area and the characteristic Church of St. Pancrazio. All of this just at 5 minutes walking!

A must-see: Taormina doesn’t need presentation, with its beauty is capable of stealing the heart of whoever visits it. Located on top of the Mount Tauro, it’s possible to access to it by two entrances, Porta Catania and Porta Messina, but independently from this you are inevitably seduced by its suggestive alleys and monuments, like IX April Square, the Main Cathedral and the famous Ancient Theatre, stage for great artists of international success and theatral plays, as well as the Film Festival organized every year. The bus shuttles, departing from the hotel area, will bring you directly in the centre of this marvelous jewel in just few minutes!

Also know as “The Pearl of the Mediterranean Sea”, located in Mazzarò, the little islet, symbol of Taormina, still keeps today its pureness and charm unaltered. Destination of many boats excursions, it’s possible to dive and snorkel in order to admire the splendour of the sea bottom and particularly the kaleidoscopic colours of the Azure Cave. Reachable within few minutes from Giardini Naxos, as well through the funicular if you come from Taormina, you can never miss this place.

Probably the main natural attraction of Sicily, it’s just 30 minutes away. The most active volcano of Europe grants an incomparable sight with the continuous eruptions and the gushing pillars of lava for hundreds of meters in height, visible from Giardini Naxos too! Every day is possible to organize an excursion in the morning, afternoon or for the whole day in order to explore the lunar landspace, the paths, the caves, the new craters and the old ones such as the Bove Valley, formed probably 64.000 years ago. A unique and unforgettable experience.

And at the bottom of the Etna we introduce the Alcantara Gorges, fascinating paths irrigated from the homonym river, formed by the long-lasting lava flows which, after a long cooling process, gave birth to the spectacular pentagonally and hexagonally shaped walls of which the gorges are composed of. The water flowing along it’s pure and limpid, unexpicably cold even during the summer when tempetures reach peaks of 38° C. It’s possible to climb up the river through the freezing water, exploring the wonders created by nature over the millennia. Reachable in just 20 minutes by car or with excursion reservable on spot.
